Pilot Pathway Loan
🛫 Fly now pay later
Subject to approval by your student loan provider. Flex Air is in the Stratus Financial student loan network. If approved, you'll pay an initial deposit now and then make no payments while you're in training, for up to a year.
Then, depending on the type of loan you are approved for, you'll make reduced payments of $150 - $200 per month for an additional year.
If approved for a deferred payment option, you will make full payments starting one year after you've completed training. If you're following Flex Air's recommended training plan, this is when you'll be eligible for employment as an Air Transport Pilot (ATP), with salaries as high as $95,000 per year. Stratus Financial is available at all Flex Air locations.
Wings Credit Union, an aviation-friendly non-profit, also offers personal loans for bank members in any state. Joining is free for aviation industry affiliated members, or you can make a $5 donation.
Level Pay
🎯 $1,000 per week
Best for Full-Time Students. You can stop at any time. No credit check required.
Level Pay is an optional billing method that smooths out your weekly flight training costs while keeping everything strictly pay‑as‑you‑go. Instead of paying variable amounts each week based on how much you flew, you can choose to be billed a flat amount of $1,000 per week for training you have already completed.
Optional. Level Pay is optional. You can switch between Level Pay and Pay As You Go at any time.
No deposit. Pay for completed training only. Each Friday you’re billed for the training you actually completed that week, up to $1,000. We do not bill you for future lessons.
No big prepayments. Level Pay is designed so you don’t prepay large blocks of training or carry a big prepaid balance.
Not a loan. Level Pay is a billing option, not financing. There’s no separate loan or credit agreement.
If you pause or withdraw. If you stop training, you’re only responsible for training you’ve already received. Any money not tied to completed training is refunded.
Pay As You Go
📈 Variable per week
Best for Part-Time Students. Payments are variable each week.
Simple, lesson‑by‑lesson billing. Pay for training as you fly. You’re responsible for the cost of each ground, flight, and simulator lesson on the day you train. We total your week and bill you on Fridays for training you’ve already completed.
$500 enrollment payment. To start Pay As You Go, there’s a $500 enrollment payment that’s applied toward your initial enrollment fees and early training.
Late payments and Return to Flight deposit. If you miss a Friday payment, a $25 late fee is added to your account. If the amount you owe is more than $1,000, we may require a Return to Flight deposit of up to $1,000 before you can get back on the schedule. This helps keep balances under control and supports predictable cash flow for your training.
If payment still isn’t received by Monday at 10:00 a.m. CT, you may be removed from the flight schedule until your balance is resolved.
