What kind of simulators does Flex Air have?

Elevate Your Pilot Training with State-of-the-Art Flight Simulator

Flex Air utilizes a variety of FAA-approved FTDs that can be used to log simulated instrument flight time or other hours that count towards your ratings. We use a mix of Basic Aviation Training Devices (BATD) and Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD).

In our Kansas City Flight Training facility (OJC) we have a:

Redbird FMX full motion (AATD)

redbird-fmxThe Redbird FMX is a full-motion Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) designed by Redbird Flight Simulations to address modern flight training challenges. It boasts a 3-axis electric motion platform for realistic yaw, pitch, and roll feedback, alongside an immersive 200° visual system for a variety of training scenarios. The device features a quick-change system allowing over 30+ aircraft configurations, making it versatile for different training needs. Certified by the FAA and recognized by over 20 other aviation authorities worldwide, it's a cost-effective training solution. Its realistic training environment and certification for loggable training hours render it a valuable asset for pilot training and proficiency.

In our San Diego Flight Training facility we have a:

Redbrid TD2Redbird TD2 (BATD)

The Redbird TD2 Basic Aviation Training Device (BATD) is a table-mounted flight simulator, designed with flight ergonomics in mind to provide a more realistic training experience compared to traditional desktop devices. It offers versatile cockpit representations, capable of simulating either a traditional 'steam gauge' cockpit or a G1000, along with configurations for fixed pitch, fixed gear aircraft or those with retractable gear and a constant speed prop. Additionally, the TD2 builds upon its predecessor, the Redbird TD, by adding the ability to simulate high-performance and/or complex aircraft, catering to a wide range of training scenarios.

In our Manhattan Flight Training facility (MHK) we have a:

Precision Flight Controls CRX (AATD)

CRXThe Precision Flight Controls (PFC) CRX is a next-generation flight training device tailored for a range of training levels. Building on the CR-12 ProPanel, it introduces an open cockpit training environment, equipped with a 430 WAAS capable GPS interface, advanced autopilot automation, and a variety of avionics for a thorough training experience. The device has extensive simulation fleet and a user-friendly hardware setup including a professional flight console, various yoke options, and multiple monitor solutions. Certified as an Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) by the FAA, it allows for logging of training hours towards certain certifications. With its robust features and FAA certifications, the CRX serves as a comprehensive, cost-effective training system for aspiring and current aviators.
