Attaining your Private Pilot License gives aspiring military pilots a competitive edge.
Civilian training can help you become a military pilot; but you would still need to join the military and be accepted into their pilot training program. If that is your plan we'd recommend that you only get your Private Pilot's License, which will build important fundamental skills in a lower stress environment, and allow you to skip portions of military flight school.
For aspiring naval aviators, having a PPL will allow you to skip Naval Introductory Flight Evaluation (NIFE) and proceed directly to Primary Flight Training (Primary).
If you're interested in becoming a US Air Force pilot, attaining your PPL allows you to skip Initial Flight Screening (IFS) and proceed directly to Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT).
