Flex Air Emergency Operations Procedures
Flex Air has comprehensive emergency operations procedures outlined in their Standard Operating Procedures, Version 2.3, updated in December 2023:
-
Immediate Notification:
- In the event of an accident or incident offsite, notify your instructor immediately once it is safe to do so.
- If there is no danger of fire or explosion, remain with the aircraft until help arrives.
-
Emergency Response Plan:
- An Emergency Response Plan is in place for all students and instructors, modeled after the U.S. Navy's Aviation Safety Center's publications.
- This document is password-protected and can be accessed using the provided login credentials:

- The plan is posted in Flex Air classrooms and briefing spaces at all bases.
-
Regulatory Compliance:
- All pilots, renters, students, and instructors must comply with FAA regulations. Deviations are allowed only in emergencies or for safety reasons.
- The Pilot in Command is the final authority on the safe operation of the aircraft.
-
Restrictions and Limitations:
- Flights are prohibited under certain conditions, such as temperatures above 100°F or below 20°F, flight into known icing, within active SIGMET boundaries, and 0:0 takeoffs.
These procedures ensure the highest standards of safety and preparedness in the event of an emergency.
